So Phillip T is trying to bring a version of Make mag to SL for residents. Cool idea.
I don’t want to spill all beans, so I will say no more, but has oddles of potential, both for present, and long long term future.
the plunge
A few weeks ago my main machine blew. Up that is. Anyhow, this finally forced the issue of an upgrade on me.
Aside from other work matters, I’ve only been my main machine to SL. Barebones system - nforce2 motherboard with integrated video, it worked perfect. Rock solid. Rarely if ever crashed.
So after a few weeks of hemming and hawing, I’ve settled on the BFG 6600GTOC. So I will soon be back into building soon. Right now anything circular in SL is hexagonal for me. [poor overstressed iBookG4]

It works. particles hang together in a little storm, until they detect someone, then they send out a tendril.
Lessons from 4am
Lesson: don't put out an object that rezzes other objects when sleepy.
I woke up this morning to about 3000+IMs forwarded to my email. All from the object, complaining to me that there was no more room to rez an object. This was a surprise to me, since I never realized those sort of errors (they pop up in blue box bottom right) are considered IMs and get forwarded to me in email. Anyhow, yay for gmail.
