Server Neighbours
So I'm launching a new PSA.
Visit Sim Neighbours.
Sim Neighbours is a site to look up who you are sharing a server with. You can read more about sims/servers/CPUs in this forum post by Lee Linden.
If your Sim is not in the database, you can get a Registrator-Tron here.
To use Registrator-Tron is very simple. You wear it, and touch to submit your Sim [When you are in your Sim]. That’s it, thats all. As a public service, you can go around registering sims if you happen to be an explorer.
Currently, I have visited ALL the Old Mainland Continent - There is still most of the private islands, as well as the North Continent left to register.
1.9 Release Notes
Preview Release Notes
Some nice changes on the way - of particular interest - ability for scripts to control camera (something that I’ve been waiting for - I may actually get into making vehicles now).
New Stats function & llGetUnixTime() are other highlights for me.
I wish the unix time stamp would be moved ahead though instead of waiting for 1.9. - would make my updater script that much simpler.
Notepad Typing
Patch Lamington just passed me his doodle pad - which makes it look like you are scribbling on a notepad, instead of the default typing anim.
Alt-Vault reviewed
Alt-Vault got its first review [pg 11-PDF] in Metaverse Messenger. I agree with Katt’s assessment that it should have balance function - it was partly slacking - i didn’t feel like writing a function to calculate stipend additions to the balance. Partly also a result of me always wanting to keep it simple - less settings means less support calls :D
Scene Globe
Aden's new Sceneglobes - they are actually pretty cool - this snapshot doesn't do it justice. You sit inside, go to mouselook , and are surrounded by a 360 panorama.
Casting Call
Spin Martin is looking for some extras to be in some of his film shorts in SL. Slackstreet is worth checking out if you are looking for something to do. Some nice builds.
