SL/Flickr Mashup
Here’s a nice little mashup between SL & Flickr over at
hackdiary by Matt Basiat (sl name).
I have to check with him in world, but based on his description of functions used, I am guessing he uses llParcelMedia to set the ‘movie’ to a .jpg. Smart work-around. (at least, that’s the only way I can think of, since we still don’t have ‘web on prim’). The only limitation would be you have to use it on your land (or land where you have rights to change the parcel media). [thanks D]
Welcome to the Any Flag
This is a new quickie I just made - the Any Flag. I installed the lite model for the librarians on info island, since Eiseldora asked so nice :)
Basic idea is it can be any flag. You can see current list at maxcase.info/anyflag. And see it in action at the library.
ZH - time update
The time for event mentioned in previous post is wrong - starts at 1pm SLT. See you there.
Zephyr Heights
Grand opening of Zephyr Heights Sunday, 3pm 1pm SLT. There will be festivities, some of the waterballoon nature, giveaways and more. Come one, come all.
Comment purgatory
Sorry to anyone whos comments got stuck in comment purgatory. It was nothing personal, just got lost in the 15000 spam comments. Anyhow, they have been cleared and are posted.
Words to avoid in your comments.
Registrator-Tron .3
Bit of a discussion has broken out over here.
Which has led me to post the code of my registrator-tron, hopefully someone finds it useful. Though it’s really quite basic.
Here’s the script.
Firefox burp
I broke my Firefox on Mac - it didn't launch secondlife: links.
I borked it by clicking "remember my choice", and clicking No by accident during a braindead moment when it asked to launch SL.
Anyhow, i found the way to fix it: In your location field of Firefox, type about:config
you will have a Filter search box - type secondlife, and double-click on the false to make it true. Next time, it should work and prompt you.
Amazon Mechanical Turk
Amazon Mechanical Turk
Is this old news and I just missed it? I like the idea - Artificial Artificial Intelligence. Seems like a better deal than camping chairs :>
Basic idea is humans complete simple small tasks - ones that humans are just better at - ie: telling if a picture contains an image of a person - and get paid.
