SLogViewer
This scratches an itch I had.
SL now can keep chat & IM logs. I wanted a quick easy way to access them, as opposed to having to go to the folder itself.
You can also view a web page in your av's profile. Just so happens Mac's come with built a in web server. I had a late night brain fart and decided to make SLogViewer.
You can see it there top right in my profile window. Looking at LH channel chat log, all the lines are coloured. (I'll put this up as a web page tool at some point - i know people like to colour logs for posting).
You can find the source and some beginnings of instructions:
http://maxcase.devjavu.com/projects/maxcase/wiki/SLogViewer
You need a web server and php.
Weird Texture Glitch
This is a weird one - all the land texture has got messed up. When I looked at it closer, i notice it's a reflection of whats on my screen, although a bit warped. (i see my account balance, apple menu, etc…)
Top 5
So, I was thinking. These are the top 5 things I wish I could add to the client.
- removing the idle logoff timeout
- add a quit warning
- full key bindings
- coloured chat
- multi dimensional lists (though I don't know how feasible this one is)
What are yours?
It's fun to browse through though. I'm actually just scanning the comments atm.
Which is a good place to start. This one looks interesting:
// The XML file loads the combo with the following labels:
// 0 - "My Home"
// 1 - "My Last Location"
// 2 - "<Type region name>"
So I'm guessing can maybe add to this XML file? on the todo list.
De-Babbler 1.1
De-Babbler is out, now with Give functionality enabled. You can see it on the top right corner of the screenshow. Follow the link at the top of this post to find a distributor - touch the object you see in the picture below. In case you missed it, De-Babbler is a tool you can use to translate what others are saying to your language.
On a tangent, something I've noticed that I haven't before is people refering to devices & scripted ojects as software, and all the other related terms. ie: they don't wear babbler, but rather they install the software.
De-Babbler
Ok, this one translates OTHER people for you in open chat. So, say you are in a group, and some people speak other languages, you can pick them (push Yellow Button) and select what language they are speaking. Push big white button to start it up. Then, when that person speaks, you get translated version from De-Babbler. Red Button resets.
In testing, so there is no Gift functionality yet.
I made this, because it's tough to teach new users, who don't speak your language, how to use a HUD. This way, they don't have to do anything.
Avaliable from the object you see in the picture - follow the link at the top of the post.

So some clever minds have hacked together a shapeshifter, an avatar that morphs into you when you get close. Very cool.
Ahhhhrrr!
Babbler has 20% more Ahhhr! now, since it can translate to Pirate as well. In any case, as an ofshoot, there's a little Pirate Party translator. Put it out, and it can translate everyone to pirate. Follow the SL Location link above to get a copy. Dunno how long it will be out here. Pirate translation comes via Pirate Monkeyness.
Babbler 2.0e
Well, it's finally ready for a general release. Babbler, my simple language translator for SL.
Languages it does, eng, spanish, french, italian, portuguese, german, japanese and chinese.
I've decided to release without Korean or Arabic, since those don't seem to be coming in proper for me.
Also with the release, comes the ability to pass a copy to anyone around you, just by pushing the Gift button.

Back in green
Well, I've set up temporary digs on my little strip of Green. Not much to look at, and a bit cluttered, but you can find registrator-tron, babbler and a few other things.
Last look of games1
Sigh. Packing up. Bit depressing, but i knew it wouldn't last forever. Bye bye games1.
