No, I'm not depressed. The cloud over my head is my PAWS - Personal AccuWeather System. It's a personal weather widget for SL - feed it a RL location, and it gives you the weather for that area, and a little representation of that weather follows you around. Of course, you can override the default behaviour, and display any weather you want to follow you. Works great with an Eeyore av :).
The PAWS is Wishfarmer creation, I've been part of the team working on it for AccuWeather.com this last while.
If you want to grab one, just visit the coords at the top of this post, and touch the Obelisk you see behind me in the picture. If you vie the pic full size, you'll nice the HUD in it's minimized
What was old (news) is new, again
Well, maybe I am missing something, but it seems like the same old same old: Every so often, I am getting the dreaded error 999 from yahoo.
HTTP request failed! HTTP/1.1 999 Unable to process request at this time — error 999
which basically is yahoo thinking i’m a bot or spyware or something. :/
Of course, the problem is intermitent, so if at first you don’t succeed…
[update: sorry about the totally ugly error msg some of you may have seen - i had errors off, but those were still coming through for some reason. using a new method, so that little thing is resolved.]

babbler(3) update
Ok, quick update:
Switched babbler over to yahoo pipes. Still have to go through my server - i know, bummer. encoding issue with json into sl.
Babelfish actually has more langs than google, so thats positive. I’ve hooked in Dutch, and French translates into a few more languages. If you want those, go pick up a new one. I’m not pushing out a new HUD as an update, because it’s non-critical. Only go get it if you want those new languages. Phreak Isle Babbler Distro Point.
In anycase, this should allow for higher loads. Thanks to Kent Brewster for pointing out you can feed any rss into pipes, and put that through the babelfish module. He implied there was no limit for the use [if i uderstood correct], but I suspect I may still trip automated things if demand gets to high.
Let me know if there are any problems.
Join my group in SL, Babbler, to be kept up to date, paticipate in beta, and find out when distributors are available for your land.
I’ll post more in depth about this later [i need sleep], but just wanted to let people know, and get this out there. I’kk outline later the plans for babbler for those who ae curious.
Delivery Un-Woed
Ok, new delivery system is in place. Please let me know if you have any problems receiving babbler or de-babbler. System is now much easier to scale up - just drop a new node in. The whole network is dumber, which is a good thing. Decided to stop immmediate duplicate deliveries while I was at it, but this may cause problems for people receiving it while in busy mode, so that list will be regularly purged. I still have to decide best way to deal with this case. Too tired to think it through now. I’m open to suggestions.
The whole exprience has got me thinking about a general SL comm-funcs-weather page. Anyone know if a public one exists? Do you have your own private one?
Sim Neighbours Update
neighbours has been updated.
New HUD device that brings the functionality of the neighbours site into second life. Now with compass. It looks the same as before. To unlock new abilities, just /99 advanced and you have an instant compass and what not. [can you tell? I really like the built in compass - rotations always make my head hurt - dunno why - so getting it working was nice.] Now with built in gift function, so pass it on please. Need more people gathering info.
[update: oops - Just realized the new beacons use llInstantMessage - I changed that to owner say, so you won’t get msgs from it offline -if you use beacons, go collect a new one.]
Also, ran some selects on the SimsDB today:

Babbler 2.0e
Well, it's finally ready for a general release. Babbler, my simple language translator for SL.
Languages it does, eng, spanish, french, italian, portuguese, german, japanese and chinese.
I've decided to release without Korean or Arabic, since those don't seem to be coming in proper for me.
Also with the release, comes the ability to pass a copy to anyone around you, just by pushing the Gift button.

Neighbours update.
Sim Neighbours finally got it's long awaited update.

Sim Neighbours is a site to look up who you are sharing a server with. You can read more about sims/servers/CPUs in this forum post by Lee Linden.
If your Sim is not in the database, you can get a Registrator-Tron here.
To use Registrator-Tron is very simple. You wear it, and touch to submit your Sim [When you are in your Sim]. That’s it, thats all. As a public service, you can go around registering sims if you happen to be an explorer.
Currently, I have visited ALL the Old Mainland Continent - There is still most of the private islands, as well as the North Continent left to register.
